この度人間文化研究機構基幹研究プロジェクト現代中東地域研究、国立民族学博物館拠点ならびに東京外国語大学アジア・アフリカ言語文化研究所拠点は共催で、在外ウイグル人の人類学的研究をなされているTomas Wilkoszewski氏をお招きし、国立民族学博物館にて研究講演会”Uyghurs in Turkey: migration and skills”を開催いたします。皆様のご参加をお待ちしております。

◆報告：”Uyghur Medical Practitioner in Turkey: Pluralistic Healing Modalities and Intersubjectivity”

• 報告要旨：Introducing their biographical and professional backgrounds as a starting point I will discuss attempts of Uyghur medical practitioners in Istanbul and Kayseri to enter the emerging market of alternative medicine in Turkey. Applying holistic medical practices that cover a broad scope from herbal expertise to the revitalization of a traditional
  Uyghur medicine they are trying to attract a multi-ethnic clientele interested in alternative healing processes. Looking at the perceptions of the patients by taking not only the individual experience, but also the dimension of intercorporeality and intersubjectivity into account, I will furthermore discuss the interactional level of the patient-doctor relationship and the creation of meaning.
